Exceptional Non-working Days
In the context of the Office closures mentioned below, please note that, pursuant to PCT Rule 80.5, if the expiration of any period during which any document or fee in connection with an international application is required to reach an Office falls on a day on which the Office is not open to the public for the purposes of the transaction of official business, that period is extended so as to expire on the next subsequent day on which the Office reopens to the public for the purposes of the transaction of official business.
Indian Patent Office (Chennai)
The Indian Patent Office (Chennai) has notified the International Bureau (IB) that it was closed for the purposes of the transaction of official business on 4 December 2023 due to inclement weather conditions.

Intellectual Property Office of Singapore
The Intellectual Property Office of Singapore has notified the International Bureau that, due to the upgrade of its electronic filing system, it added three days to the period of Wednesday 1 May 2024 to Monday 13 May 2024 on which it was not open to the public for the transaction of official business. The additional dates were from Tuesday 14 May 2024 to Thursday 16 May 2024, inclusive.
