The new online publication of the Locarno Classification is now available

The new online publication of the Locarno Classification (LOCPUB) is now available to the public. LOCPUB features a number of improvements:

  • it presents the list of goods in class and subclass order as well as in alphabetical order,
  • in the list of goods in class and subclass order (“Classes” tab), it is possible to collapse or expand the subclasses, and to hide or unhide the ID Nos. and the explanatory notes,
  • terms that are synonyms are grouped and have the same ID No.,
  • in the bilingual version English-French or French-English, both language versions of the list of goods can be viewed simultaneously,
  • the General Remarks and the Recommendations Concerning the Application of the Locarno Classification are clearly visible in the “General Remarks” and “Recommendations” tabs,
  • the modifications introduced between subsequent editions can be consulted in the “Modifications” tab,
  • it is possible to consult previous editions of the Classification in PDF format (only the 9 th and the 10 th editions for the moment),
  • the master files used for the production of LOCPUB can be downloaded,
  • it is possible to view the “Extended Product Indication Classification (EPIC)”, a hierarchical tree structure created by the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) in collaboration with European national offices and WIPO.
