Details Details Year of Version 2010 Dates Entry into force: March 1, 1995 Adopted: December 27, 1994 Type of Text Framework Laws Subject Matter Patents (Inventions), Industrial Designs, Trademarks, Trade Names, Undisclosed Information (Trade Secrets), Copyright and Related Rights (Neighboring Rights), Other, Industrial Property Notes This consolidated version of the General Part of the Civil Code incorporates amendments up to Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan No. 338-IV of July 15, 2010, which came into force on August 7, 2010 (see Section 1, Chapter 2, Articles 91 and 106 of this consolidated General Part for the amendments).

The consolidated General Part of the Code provides recognition of exclusive right of natural or legal persons for results of intellectual creative activity and means of identification of legal persons and products of natural or legal persons, their works and services (see Section 1, Chapter 1, Articles 7(5) & 10(5); Chapter 2, Articles 14, 22(2), (3), 38, 59(1) & 61(2)(3); Chapter 3, Articles 115, 119(2), 125, 126; Chapter 4, Article 156(4); Chapter 5, Article 166(4); and Section 3, Subsection 1, Chapter 18, Article 303(3); and Subsection 2, Chapter 22, Article 379).
