Through the PCT Electronic Data Interchange (PCT-EDI) system, industrial property offices (IPOs) and WIPO can exchange large volumes of documents related to PCT international applications over the Internet in a fully automated “system to system” manner.
The PCT-EDI system is based on a simple file management procedure using folders held on a secure file transfer protocol server.
For IPOs of PCT member states that do not have a local automated system for processing PCT international applications, reference is made to the ePCT portal system for offices where it is possible to process PCT international applications without the need for a local automation system.
