Within the framework of the program of technical cooperation between WIPO and the Swedish Patent and Registration Office (PRV), WIPO organized, in cooperation with PRV and with the assistance of the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida), an Advanced Training and Advisory Program on Intellectual Property Rights in the Global Economy for the Least Developed Countries (LDCs), in Stockholm, from April 24 to May 13, 2016. A copy of the approved memorandum for the above mentioned Training Program is attached, for ease of reference. The main purpose of the Follow-up Training Program is to share relevant experiences among the participants on the progress of individual country projects identified during the Training Program in Stockholm, in April-May 2015, and to formulate action plans for the future. Following consultations with the Nelson Mandela African Institution of Science and Technology (NM-AIST) and PRV, it is proposed to organize the follow-up to the Training Program in Arusha, United Republic of Tanzania, from November 13 to 18, 2016. The letter confirming the willingness of NM-AIST to host the follow-up meeting of the Training Program is attached. Certificates will be prepared to be issued to all participants that will successfully complete the Training Program (those who participated in Stockholm in April/May 2016 and will attend the follow-up in Arusha). A sample of the certificate is attached, for your approval. The actual certificates to be signed by you will be submitted closer to date of the program once the participants confirm their attendance. The representative of PRV will also sign on the certificates. The provisional program, the cost estimate (Budget Program LDCs 0035-P3031) and the list of participants are attached.
