Following the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding with the Spanish Franchisors Association (AEF) aimed at promoting the use of WIPO ADR procedures in the franchising sector, the WIPO Arbitration and Mediation Center and AEF will present this collaboration at a meeting to be held in the morning of October 7, 2014 in Madrid.
The meeting will be held at the Spanish Patent and Trademark Office (OEPM). Patricia Garcia-Escudero, Director General of OEPM, and Xavier Vallhonrat, Chairman of AEF, will open the meeting. In addition to my presentation on WIPO Mediation and Arbitration for franchising disputes, the meeting will include presentations by Jordi Ruiz and Santiago Maiz (two franchising lawyers involved in the legal committee of AEF).
A separate training session on WIPO Mediation and Arbitration with a group of franchising lawyers will take place in the afternoon of October 7, 2014. |
