A May 15 meeting organized by WIPO Re:Search consortium partner Bio Ventures for Global Health (BVGH) constitutes the primary purpose of the mission. BVGH is planning this meeting for WIPO Re:Search member companies, as well as high-priority potential member companies, to solicit input on the Consortium; identify future challenges and opportunities; and set a cohesive vision and strategy that optimally engages industry and positions the Consortium for meaningful impact in the fight against Neglected Tropical Diseases (NTDs), tuberculosis and malaria. A preliminary agenda is attached. While in the United States, Mr. Getahun and Ms. Dietterich also plan to meet with members and high-priority potential members of WIPO GREEN. WIPO GREEN members with whom they may meet (depending on availability) include infoDev in Washington DC. Potential WIPO GREEN members with whom they may meet include the ITT Corporation (New York), the American Water Works Company (New Jersey), and Covanta (New Jersey). They may also call upon the World Resources Institute (Washington), the Inter-American Development Bank (Washington), and the Rockefeller Foundation (New York). Mr. Getahun and Ms. Dietterich will travel by train for meetings outside of Washington DC. |
