The Regional Bureau for Arab Countries engaged in consultations with the Permanent Mission of the Lebanese Republic to the United Nations Office in Geneva and also with the Head of the Intellectual Property Division within the Ministry of Economy and Trade of Lebanon to discuss the request of the Government of Lebanon to set up a National Industrial Property Strategy. Based on that request, the 2018 work plan of the Regional Bureau for Arab countries included an activity for setting up a National Industrial Property Strategy for Lebanon.
After consultations with the proposed Consultant as well as with the competent government authorities in Lebanon, it is proposed that Mr. Prabuddha Ganguli, CEO, Vision – IPR, India, undertake a mission to Lebanon from November 19 to 23, 2018. Mr. Ganguli was selected to undertake this mission based on his wide experience in the field of IP as indicated in the attached CV. He will be accompanied in his mission by Mr. Amr Abdelaziz, Counselor, Regional Bureau for Arab Countries and the Desk Officer for the cooperation with Lebanon |
