Title: Joint WIPO-Sida Training and Advisory Program on Intellectual Property Rights in the Global Economy for the Least Developed Countries (LDCs)
Description: The objective of the Program is to contribute to intellectual property (IP) institution building in LDCs for economic growth and development. The Program promotes familiarity with the legislation, enforcement, administration and management aspects of intellectual property, from a national, regional and an international perspective. Emphasis will be given on the role of intellectual property in national economic development such as the importance of patent information for technological capacity building, design protection, the contribution of collective management societies in wealth creation and the impact of piracy and counterfeiting of protected works.
