Awareness Day for Journalists

The WIPO Algeria Office recently held an awareness day for journalists in Algiers. Organized jointly with the Algerian National Industrial Property Rights Institute (INAPI) and the National Office of Copyright and Related Rights of Algeria (ONDA), it took place on December 2.

The event provided an opportunity for the Director of the Algeria Office and the Directors General of ONDA and INAPI to make a series of presentations on WIPO, intellectual property (IP) in general and the IP system in Algeria.

The presentations were followed by a lively and fruitful debate, at the end of which participants requested that similar sessions be organized again in the future.

The main public media outlets (including the Algerian Press Service Agency and the public television and broadcasting services) and independent media (such as El Watan and Liberté), took part and some have already released reports on the event.

In addition, the Director of the Algeria Office and the Directors General of INAPI and ONDA gave several interviews in the course of the day.
