Intellectual Property Month Launched

March 31, 2022

Intellectual Property Month has been launched in Algeria to mark this year’s World Intellectual Property Day.

The Governor of El-Bayadh Province launched Intellectual Property Month on March 23, 2022, at the Noureddine Bachir University Center.

Several workshops covering different aspects of intellectual property (IP) were organized over two days for students, researchers and craftspeople.

The Director of the WIPO Algeria Office, who participated via videoconference, stressed in his opening statement that the theme of World Intellectual Property Day this year would encourage young Algerians to take an active interest in innovation and creativity.

The Constantine 2 University also organized an IP awareness day on March 28, focusing on the theme of World Intellectual Property Day.

The opening ceremony was addressed by the Rector of the University, the Director of the Institute of Libraries and Archives, the Director General of the Algerian National Institute of Industrial Property and the Director of the WIPO Algeria Office.

Thereafter, students, researchers and project leaders were able to attend a series of IP and innovation workshops.

Several other events feature on the Intellectual Property Month program.
