First Annual Meeting of Rio Intellectual Property and Technology Commercialization Network

On January 27, 2016 the Rio de Janeiro Intellectual Property and Technology Commercialization Network (REPICT) held its first annual meeting with representatives of technology transfer offices and other partners, including WIPO Brazil Office personnel in Brazil.

The 2016 work plan was presented, focusing on best practices regarding topics such as:

• The legal framework of intellectual property;
• Ten years of the Industrial Property Law in Brazil;
• Technology transfer and innovation;
• The Importance of creating metrics to assess university-business relations in innovation promotion; and
• Local development networks.
