Entrepreneurial Mobilization for Innovation (MEI) Proposes Madrid and Hague System Accession

On March 4, 2016, Entrepreneurial Mobilization for Innovation (MEI) – an industry group comprised of CEOs of the largest companies in Brazil (national and multinational) – presented to government ministers a document with proposals relating to the National Strategy for Science, Technology, and Innovation. Among the proposals was that Brazil join WIPO’s Madrid Protocol and Hague System.
The proposal document was handed to the Minister of Education, Mr. Aloísio Mercadante, and the Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation, Mr. Celso Pansera.
MEI is led by Mr. Pedro Wongtschowski, President of the Ultra Group. Mr. Wongtschowski was invited by WIPO to be part of the Advisory Board of the Global Innovation Index – WIPO’s annual report which ranks the innovation performance of 141 countries and economies around the world.
