WIPO's Regional Director in Brazil Visits Olympic City

On April 5, 2016, Mr. José Graça Aranha, WIPO Regional Director in Brazil, participated, along with other officials, in a visit to Deodoro Olympic Park – the future site of some of the events at this year’s summer Olympic Games.
The visit was organized for the directors of the Council of the City of Rio de Janeiro and aimed to enhance knowledge and experience with regards to solutions adopted by strategic planners when preparing for the Olympic Games.
Deodoro Olympic Park is a sports complex that will host 11 Olympic and four Paralympic sports. It will host the Olympic equestrian, cycling, modern pentathlon, shooting, canoeing, field hockey, rugby and basketball. The Paralympic events to be held at the Park are shooting, equestrian, as well as wheelchair fencing and soccer.
