USPTO Representatives in Brazil Visit WBO

On June 14, 2016, the WIPO Brazil Office (WBO) received a visit from representatives of the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) and the U.S. Consulate General in Rio de Janeiro. Ms. Laura Hammel, Intellectual Property Attaché for Mercosur, Guianas, and Suriname from the U.S. Department of Commerce (USPTO) and Ms. Maria Beatriz Dellore, Regional Legal Advisor for Intellectual Property from the U.S. Consulate General in Rio de Janeiro visited the WBO.
During the visit they discussed interest in collaboration between WIPO and representatives of USPTO in Brazil. In particular, USPTO would be very interested in participating in the upcoming WIPO Geographical Indication and Collective Trademarks event that will take place in Florianopolis from August 31 to September 2. They are also interested in the annual WIPO workshop for Latin American countries, as well as other relevant courses.
