Training Program in Technology Licensing with Focus on the Agro-industrial Sector

In cooperation with the SMEs and Entrepreneurship Support Division, and the support of the Brazilian Agricultural Research Corporation (Embrapa) and the National Institute of Industrial Property of Brazil (INPI), WIPO Brazil Office (WBO) organized a training program on technology licensing with a focus on the agro-industrial Sector. The event took place in Brasília from June 27 to July 1, 2016.
The purpose of the training program was to improve the knowledge of technology managers, business innovation professionals and of lawyers from academic institutions and from industry. The central topic was the commercialization of IP, with a particular focus on intellectual property (IP) marketing and on the valuation of technology, as well as on the negotiation and drafting of license agreements.
The training program also involved practical exercises on the negotiation and drafting of licensing agreements. In total 62 people attended from Embrapa and other companies.
