WIPO Presents at Event on Innovation in Public Research Institutions

On September 28, WIPO participated in the event Challenges of Intellectual Property Management and Innovation in Public Research Institutions. The event aimed to present and discuss the current intellectual property and innovation situation, as well as the institutional innovation challenges faced by research and development institutions and the scientific community in the health sector.
Around 100 representatives of research institutions, technology centers and companies playing a leading role in the area participated in the event. Ms. Beatriz Amorim, Director of WIPO’s Latin America and Caribbean Bureau, gave a presentation entitled “International Context of Intellectual Property and the Impacts to the Health Innovation”. Ms. Amorim also received an award from the Oswaldo Cruz Foundation recognizing her contribution to IP informational activities.
