Workshop on Open Source Tools for Patent Analytics in Porto Alegre

On October 19 to 21, WIPO organized the National Workshop on Open Source Tools for Patent Analytics in Porto Alegre (Brazil). The event helped participants to make better use of patent information, transforming the results of patent search into meaningful analysis.

The Workshop was attended by 38 researchers from Pontifical Catholic University of Rio Grande do Sul (PUCRS), its Science and Technology Park (TECNOPUC) and its Technology Transfer Office (TTO).

WIPO had the opportunity to strengthen its partnership with PUCRS on projects related to IP training. The workshop was also a chance to create a network of people who have participated in WIPO patent analytics training and who currently work or are interested in working in the area.

The event was organized by WIPO and INPI Brazil, in cooperation with PUCRS.
