Enroll Now for WIPO-China Summer School on IP

The WIPO China Summer School on Intellectual Property (IP) will take place in Shanghai, China, from September 16 to 27, 2019.

The WIPO China Summer School on IP is jointly organized by WIPO and the East China University of Politics and Law (ECUPL) and the course will take place on ECUPL premises.

Curriculum

The WIPO Summer School is a regular training program that the WIPO Academy has been organizing in partnership with local institutions in several countries since 2009. The program provides an opportunity for senior students, young professionals and government officials to acquire deeper knowledge of each domain of intellectual property (IP) and of the role and function of WIPO.

The Summer School program consists of lectures, case studies, simulation exercises and group discussions on selected IP topics, with a focus on the interface between IP and other disciplines.

The working language will be English.

Certificate

A certificate of participation will be awarded to participants who successfully complete the program requirements.

Eligibility

The WIPO China Summer School is open to senior students (graduate and post-graduate students) and young professionals from any field of study or discipline. The program is designed for candidates who wish to obtain deeper knowledge of IP.

Participants are responsible for their own travel to and from Shanghai, China, as well as for accommodation and living expenses during their participation in the program.

Insurance and medical examination

All the participants are required to have medical insurance in China according to the regulations of the Ministry of Education of China. The validity of the insurance must cover the round trip and the whole duration of study. Each participant will be required to present a medical certificate upon arrival.

Online registration

Interested applicants may pre-enroll for the course until August 9, 2019.

Applications must be submitted online together with résumés, letters of motivation, and copies of passports (or identity cards).

Registration fees for Summer School on IP

Registration fees are payable to the ECUPL upon notification of acceptance.

Fees fall into the following categories:

  • Students and young professionals from developing countries and countries in transition and residing in those countries:
  • Students: USD100
  • Young professionals: USD200
  • Students and young professionals from developed countries:
    • Students: USD400
    • Young professionals: USD600

Registration fees are to be paid upon arrival in Chinese RMB (cash only).
