WIPO attended the 13th China Trademark Festival

June 17 2023, Ms. Wang Binying, Deputy Director General of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), sent a congratulatory letter to the 13th China Trademark Festival (CTF), which was read out by Mr. Chen Hongbing, Director of Madrid Operations Division.

Ms. Wang, on behalf of WIPO, congratulated the grand opening of the 13th China Trademark Festival. As a global trademark powerhouse, China's domestic trademark applications and registrations have ranked among the top in the world for years, and the number of overseas trademark applications grow rapidly with the number of Madrid applications ranking third in the world. Ms. Wang also expressed appreciation for the achievements made by China's trademark development in recent years and expected to have in-depth exchanges and cooperation with China Trademark Association (CTA) along with the Chinese trademark community, in order to promote the work of trademark and its international protection to better serve China's high-quality economic development and high-level opening-up policy.

WIPO held the Madrid Roundtable for Chinese users during the CTF, introducing the latest developments and updates on the Madrid System, the latest progress of the Madrid system online services, and China’s practice of the Madrid system.

WIPO set up a booth at the China Brands and Trademarks Expo to provide users with live demonstrations of the Madrid system online services and electronic tools to help them experience the new way of registering and managing global trademarks in the future.

About the China Trademark Festival

The China Trademark Festival is a renowned international event of trademark and branding. From June 16 to June 19 2023, the 13th China Trademark Festival (CTF), was held successfully in Dongguan, Guangdong Province. The CTF was hosted by China Trademark Association, Guangdong Administration for Market Regulation, and the People's Government of Dongguan Municipality. With the theme of "Trademark Empowers New Development, Brand Leads Dual Circulation", the CTF consists of the 17th China Trademark Annual Conference, the 2023 China Brands and Trademarks Expo, and a series of themed activities, attracting nearly 2,000 participants from home and abroad.
