National collection of Japan now available

The
PATENTSCOPE search system now
includes the national patent data of Japan, with more than 3'000'000 records covering
January 2004 to July 2012, of which over 2'900'000 have full-text XML. The collection will be
updated every week.
This brings to 29 the number of national offices whose data is available in the PATENTSCOPE
search system .
How to search the Japanese patent collection without knowing one word of Japanese? Using
CLIR! Enter your keywords in any of the languages supported by CLIR which will
return translation into Japanese of those keywords and their synonyms; then copy those results in
the query box of the PATENTSCOPE search system; select Japan; and click the
Search button.
Translation from Japanese by Google Translate is also available in the PATENTSCOPE search
system for the title and abstract in the search result list and for the full-text in
individual records.
