【WJO’s Events & Activities】WIPO Global Business Seminar (Tokyo)

On 1 December 2014, a roving seminar, titled WIPO Global Business Seminar, was held in Tokyo. This seminar was organized by WIPO in cooperation with the Japan Patent Office (JPO) and supported by the Japan Intellectual Property Association (JIPA). The seminar aimed to provide an introduction to WIPO services and databases, mainly to participants who are not familiar with these services and databases. Senior representatives, headed by Mr. Yoshiyuki Takagi, Assistant Director General from WIPO headquarters, attended the seminar as speakers. The JPO, JIPA and other organizations also dispatched speakers or moderators to the seminar. Mr. Masaki Okamoto, a Counsellor (Acting Head), Mr. Jonah Asher, Associate Research Officer, and Ms. Momoko Iwahashi, Administrative Assistant, from the WIPO Japan Office, worked with colleagues from headquarters on the preparation and management of the seminar. The seminar attracted about 170 participants.
