Expert Lecture on IP Administration for LDCs

On September 28, 2015, a counsellor at the WIPO Japan Office (WJO) gave a lecture for representatives of LDCs on effective intellectual property (IP) administration.

The lecture was provided by Mr. Masaki Okamoto, counsellor at the WJO, and 26 officials from 18 LDCs attended. Following the lecture, Mr. Okamoto, Mr. Jonah Asher (Associate Research Officer at the WJO), and Ms. Momoko Iwahashi (Administrative Assistant) at the WJO presented the IP Advantage database –a compilation of successful case studies from around the world on the use of IP. Their presentation took the form of a workshop, featuring case studies from the database.
