Young Japanese Students Visit WIPO Japan Office
July 19, 2016
A group of 11 young Japanese students – all winners of a national invention competition – recently visited the WIPO Japan Office (WJO).
The students took part in and won awards at one or both of the 73rd National Invention Competition for Students and the 5th National Creativity Challenge Contest. Both competitions were organized by the Japan Institute for Promoting Invention and Innovation.
During their visit, staff at the WJO explained the importance of patents and presented a case study on global patent protection. The students also plan to visit Harbin in China this month to attend the 2016 International Exhibition for Young Inventors.
