The tour, which formed a part of the prize package for the winners, was organized by the WIPO Nigeria Office and, in line with the competitions objectives, created an opportunity for the winners of the essay competition to learn more about IP through a direct engagement with the people and institutions behind the administration of IP in Nigeria.

As part of their experiential learning tour, the winners participated in IP course lectures, as well as mentorship and entrepreneurial sessions.  Furthermore, they were hosted to interactive learning sessions by the Director-General and management of the Nigerian Copyright Commission (NCC), the Registrars and management of the Trademark Registry and the Patents and Designs Registry, the Director-General and management of the National Office for Technology Acquisition and Promotion (NOTAP) as well as the Honorable Minister of Foreign Affairs, H.E. Mr. Geoffrey Onyeama.
