WIPO Nigeria Supports Capacity Building for Examiners and Staff of IP Offices in Nigeria

From October 11 – 13, 2022, the WIPO Nigeria Office, in collaboration with the International Trademark Association (INTA), organized a 3-Day training for over 60 examiners and staff of IP offices in Nigeria. In addition to WIPO officials and INTA members, the training also featured speakers from the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).
Held at the United Nations House Abuja, the training provided an opportunity for government officials to interact with national and international experts in the field of IP on topical areas of interest. The diversity of participants across the various key IP offices fostered inter-agency interaction and information exchange, while exposing examiners and staff to best practices and trends in IP rights registration, regulation, administration, implementation and dispute resolution.
