On June 19, 2023, the WIPO Nigeria Office announced the winner and 15 finalists of the 2023 WIPO National Intellectual Property Essay Competition, themed “Gender Inclusivity as a Strategy to Drive Innovation and Creativity in Nigeria”. A 500 level law student from the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Mr. Adedoyin Farinmade, emerged the overall winner from a total of 164 entries that were submitted to the competition this year. WIPO will support the winner and finalists with capacity building prizes and opportunities to further strengthen their growth and engagement with the field of intellectual property.
