User-Friendly TISC Search Now Available
February 3, 2017
The Business-Navigator service – a free online resource for entrepreneurs, maintained by the Russian government’s AO SME Corporation – has launched a user-friendly way to search for Technology and Innovation Support Centers (TISCs) in the Russian regions.
In order to locate your closest TISC, just open the interactive map, click on Information and Marketing Support and then on Technology and Innovation Support Centers. TISC icons will appear on the map and with a simple click on one, you can find the necessary contact details of the corresponding Center.
What are TISCs?
The WIPO Technology and Innovation Support Center (TISC) program provides innovators in developing countries with access to locally based, high quality technology information and related services, helping them to exploit their innovative potential and to create, protect, and manage their intellectual property (IP) rights. The first TISCs in the Russian Federation were opened in 2012 and they now number 140.
Services offered by TISCs include:
- Access to online patent and non-patent (scientific and technical) resources and IP-related publications;
- Assistance in searching and retrieving technology information;
- Training in database search;
- On-demand searches (novelty, state-of-the-art and infringement);
- Monitoring technology and competitors;
- Basic information on industrial property laws, management and strategy, and technology commercialization and marketing.
Certain Russian TISCs may also provide assistance with the e-filing process for patent and trademark applications.
