Seminar on IP Policies for Universities and Research Institutions

Government officials and representatives of academic institutions came together for the Sub-Regional Seminar for Intellectual Property Policies in Universities and Research Institutions, held on March 15 and 16, 2017 in Saint Petersburg, Russia. The aim of the Seminar was to share success stories and experiences.
Participants came from Russia, Israel, Finland, Sweden and Norway. On the first day success stories and experiences in the implementation of IP policies in academic institutions were presented by:
- Radzyner School of Law (Herzliya)
- Innovation Center Uppsala University (Uppsala)
- Helsinki Innovation Services (Helsinki)
- Bergen Technology Transfer Office (Bergen)
- Higher School of Economics (Moscow)
The Seminar took place at the Saint Petersburg National Research University of Information Technologies, Mechanics and Optics (ITMO). It was organized by WIPO and the Russian Federal Service for Intellectual Property, in cooperation with ITMO University and the Bauman Moscow State Technical University.
Expert Group meeting
The second day was devoted to discussion sessions among the Expert Group regarding the National Project on IP Policies at Universities and Research Institutions in the Russian Federation.
The Group discussed the phases of the project, the conditions under which it will take place, and the activities planned for 2017.
