Technology and Innovation Support Centers Training Seminar in Moscow

A Technology and Innovation Support Centers (TISCs) training seminar was held from November 27 to 29, 2018 in Moscow (Russian Federation). The event gathered representatives of TISCs from the major regions of the Russian Federation.
The event served as an opportunity to discuss the paramount role of TISCs in providing innovators with access to high quality technology information and helping them create and manage their intellectual property (IP) rights.

- Federal Institute of Industrial Property (FIPS) services for TISCs;
- IP management in the Russian regions;
- Role of TISCs in promoting young innovators and facilitating innovative entrepreneurship;
- Technology transfer and educational programs.
Study visit
TISC specialists from Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan also took part at the event as part of a WIPO-organized study visit to learn from the rich experience of the Russian Federation of running 170 TISCs.
In addition, study visits to the TISCs in the Higher School of Economics and the All-Russian Patent and Technical Library (VPTB) were organized.
WIPO was represented by Mr. Mussadiq Hussain, Program Officer, Access to Information and Knowledge Division, who stressed Russia’s leading role in advancing IP both domestically and globally. Mr. Hussain, briefed participants on WIPO Intellogist Platform (to be launched in 2019), which will provide access to patent data bases as well as to statistical information.
More than 50 participants took part in the seminar. The event was organized by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) in cooperation with the Federal Service for Intellectual Property (Rospatent).
