The Fifty-Ninth Series of Meetings of the Assemblies of WIPO Member States and the exhibition Russia: The Territory of Inventiveness and Creativity

From September 30 to October 9, 2019, the Fifty-Ninth Series of Meetings of the Assemblies of WIPO Member States takes place at the WIPO headquarters in Geneva.
The General Assembly is one of the main WIPO body that determines its policies and makes decisions. WIPO Member States traditionally meet for the ordinary sessions that serve as the main platform for evaluation of the Organization’s work results and discussion of the further activity direction.
More than a thousand delegates from 192 countries are attending the Meetings. Mr. Francis Gurry, Director General, represented his Report to the WIPO Assemblies that covered the most important topics in the field of IP administration, in particular, this year topics were the following: the IP regulatory framework, global IP services and opening of new WIPO External Offices.
WIPO Office in the Russian Federation is taking part in the sessions of the WIPO Assemblies 2019 and participating in the discussion of the functioning of the international IP system, further development of the WRO and the most important aspects of the 2020 Workplan.
Also during the General Assembly the exhibition "Russia: The Territory of Inventiveness and Creativity” opened the doors for all the participants of the sessions on September 30, 2019. [Photos on Flickr]
