National Seminar on Intellectual Property Policies for Universities and Research Institutions in Penza

On October 17, the National Seminar on Regulations in the field of intellectual property for universities and research institutions took place in Penza.

With the view to raising awareness in the Russian Federation about World Intellectual Property Organization’s (WIPO) activities and providing technical assistance in connection with WIPO programs on the international IP system, WIPO representatives talked about the National Project on Intellectual Property Policy for Universities and Research Institutes at the Penza State University.

The seminar comprised the following sections: Protection of IP Rights within Digital Economy, Basics of Institutional and Innovation Ecosystem in Universities and Research Institutions, etc.

The event also included a Practical Session on Drafting the IP Template for Universities and Research Institutions. Among its participants were representatives of academic and research institutions, enterprises, individual inventors and patent professionals from Penza and Penza Region, who received practical information and recommendations regarding the said topics.

The seminar was organized by WIPO in cooperation with the Federal Service for Intellectual Property (Rospatent), Penza State University (PSU) and Technology and Innovation Support Center of the PSU.
