Roving seminars on WIPO Services and Initiatives in the Russian Federation

Roving Seminars on WIPO Services and Initiatives were held in several Russian cities on October 14 to 18.

Representatives of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) visited:

  • on October 14, Tyumen and the Tyumen Regional Organization of All-Russian Union of Inventors and Rationalizations (VOIR);
  • on October 16, Ekaterinburg and the Ural Federal University named after the first President of Russia B.N.Yeiltsin;
  • on October 18, St. Petersburg and the Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University.

During the events, the following topics were covered:

  • WIPO Activities;
  • Development of the International Legislation;
  • Main Economic Researches in the Field of IP;
  • WIPO Arbitration and Mediation: Alternative Dispute Resolution.

The Seminar was attended by representatives of the business community, researchers, lawyers, IP specialists, employees of universities and research organizations and individuals interested in obtaining knowledge in the field of IP.

The public was provided with an overview of the key IP issues, information focused on key markets and products in the regions, as well as with recommendations on how to use WIPO Global Services in order to achieve their goals and with an opportunity to establish professional contacts.

The Seminars were organized by WIPO in cooperation with the Russian Federal Service for Intellectual Property (Rospatent)
