The WIPO Academy, with the support of the Russian Federal Service for Intellectual Property (ROSPATENT) and the WIPO Office in the Russian Federation, awarded scholarships for the advanced distance learning (DL) courses to 17 students who presented the best papers at the Law Faculty of St. Petersburg State University’s International Students Law Conference (iSLaCo). The awards were presented on the 20th anniversary of the conference which was held from April 8 to 10, 2021 and themed “Law: New & Now”.
Over 300 students attended iSLaCo from Austria, China, Germany, Japan, the Philippines and Russia to present their research papers and engage in discussions with their peers on different areas pertaining to international law, including intellectual property (IP). The 2021 edition of iSLaCo was held virtually given the COVID-19 pandemic.
The winners of the WIPO DL scholarships presented papers on a range of subjects including:
