Webinar on the Benefits of WIPO PROOF for IP Professionals

April 6, 2021

WIPO is constantly looking to respond to the evolving needs of the global business community by making available new tools and services. Launched last year, WIPO PROOF is an online service that creates tamper-proof evidence of the existence at a point in time of a digital file. These digital files can range from trade secrets to scripts, musical scores and other creative works, to research results, large data sets, artificial intelligence algorithms, or any business record.

To help raise awareness of this service, the WIPO Singapore Office in collaboration with colleagues from HQ, organized a webinar on WIPO PROOF for IP professionals. Over 50 people joined the webinar from all over the region.

The feedback following the webinar was very positive with many participants keen to utilize this new service.

WIPO PROOF complements the Organization’s existing intellectual property (IP) systems by helping innovators and creators take verifiable actions to safeguard the many outputs of their work on the journey from concept to development to commercialization.

Users of the service receive a WIPO PROOF token which is a date- and time-stamped digital fingerprint of the file or data, which can be used as evidence by IP lawyers in a legal dispute.
