IPOS International's Academy Meets Up with IPTIs to Share Experiences

April 18, 2023

The academy team at IPOS International (a subsidiary of the Intellectual Property Office of Singapore) held a virtual experience sharing meet-up with the WIPO Intellectual Property Training Institutions (IPTIs) on April 18, 2023. Facilitated by the WIPO Academy and the WIPO Singapore Office, the session sought to encourage and strengthen networking and cooperation between IPOS International and the IPTIs. The session was held in English, French and Spanish.

Over 80 focal points, trainers and relevant representatives from 14 established IPTIs, and 12 IPTIs that are underway, benefitted from the exchange with IPOS International's academy.

What was covered?

IPOS International's academy – Singapore's only dedicated centre for intellectual property education and training, shared its knowledge and experiences in delivering more than 200 training programs on an annual basis for the last 20 years, targeting intellectual property (IP) professionals from the public and private sectors, businesses, as well as university students in Singapore and the Asia Pacific Region overall.

IPOS International's academy provided an overview of the best practices and challenges in effective IP skills-building for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in particular, in addition to an engaging in open dialogue session where participants were able to ask questions and gauge further insights.

This experience established the groundwork needed for future collaboration between IPOS International and WIPO Academy IPTIs. To further support the IPTIs the WIPO Academy will continue to facilitate knowledge-sharing and collaboration among similar institutions and IPTIs in the future.
