Launch of New Course on Designs in Korea

The WIPO Academy, the International Intellectual Property Training Institute (IIPTI) of the Republic of Korea, and the Korean Intellectual Property Office (KIPO) jointly organized the first training course on industrial designs under the Professional Development Program (PDP) in Daejeon, Republic of Korea from May 28 to June 1, 2018.
The first edition of the WIPO-KIPO Training Course on Designs was organized to enhance government officials’ understanding of the importance of designs, their legal protection, and new emerging issues in the field.
60 government officials applied to take part in the new training course and of these 18 from 13 developing countries and countries with economies in transition were selected to participate.
The participants visited the Korea Institute of Design Promotion (KIDP) and the Dongdaemun Design Plaza (DDP) as part of the training course.
