Academy Signs Agreement with American University

Mr. Sherif Saadallah, Executive Director of the WIPO Academy, and Dean and Professor of Law Camille Nelson of American University Washington College of Law (AUWCL) signed a Memorandum of Understanding on August 21, 2018 establishing a cooperative partnership for teaching and training in the area of intellectual property (IP).

The cooperation adds AUWCL to the Academy’s growing network of top universities engaged in IP training. The main areas of cooperation include:

  • Partial scholarships for the AUWCL LL.M in IP for candidates from developing countries, least developed countries and countries with economies in transition;
  • Five scholarships for selected participants at the annual AUWCL summer program in Geneva;
  • Participation of AUWCL guest lecturers and curriculum experts in WIPO programs; and
  • The use of WIPO resources, such as the Academy’s Distance Learning courses in selected AUWCL programs.
