WIPO Academy Briefing Session for Arab Countries

The WIPO Academy and the Regional Bureau for Arab Countries organized a briefing session on the work of the Academy for representatives from Arab countries in Geneva on March 27, 2019. The aim of the briefing session was to encourage participation from the Arab region across the Academy’s programs.
The Executive Director of the WIPO Academy, Mr. Sherif Saadallah, and the Director of the Regional Bureau for Arab Countries, Mr. Walid Abdelnasser gave the opening remarks at the briefing session, which was attended by 19 representatives from 13 member states alongside two regional and sub-regional organizations.
The programs and projects presented included:
- Professional Development training for government officials
- Joint Master’s degrees on intellectual property (IP) with partner universities
- Summer Schools for young professionals and students
- Basic to advanced and blended Distance Learning courses
- Continuing judicial education on IP
- National IP Training Institutions (IPTIs)
- The recently launched IP4Youth&Teachers service
