Register Now for the Academy’s DL Courses

Registration for the first session of the WIPO Academy’s general and advanced Distance Learning (DL) courses for 2021 is now open on the WIPO eLearning Center website.
The DL courses are available in seven languages (Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Portuguese, Russian and Spanish), to anyone wishing to acquire knowledge and skills in the field of intellectual property (IP).
New DL Courses in 2021
Several new courses will gradually be made available for registration in 2021 such as:
- The Essentials of Patents (DL-170);
- E-Tutorial on Using Patent Information (DL-177);
- Specialized Course on the Madrid System for the International Registration of Marks (DL-303);
- Executive Course on IP and Genetic Resources in the Life Sciences (DL-427); and
- Executive Course on IP and Exports (DL-730).
Why sign up for an advanced course?
- Expand your IP knowledge in a range of topics including copyright, patents, trademarks, arbitration, traditional knowledge and IP management;
- Learn about the latest developments in the use of IP relating to the areas of health, trade, business and the creative industries;
- Engage in discussions with IP experts and other professionals from the private and public sectors;
- Participate in live video lectures and learn from renowned IP experts;
- Follow a course at your own pace;
- Interact with participants from all over the world in the discussion forums; and
- Receive recognition for the IP skills and knowledge acquired with an electronic WIPO certificate upon successfully completing a course.
Coming soon
The WIPO Academy will also be opening its blended learning courses for registration in the second half of 2021. The blended learning courses combine distance learning and in-person training on specialized topics, resulting in certification in an IP-related skill such as IP teaching, licensing, patent drafting, and IP asset management.
