The WIPO Academy Professional Development Program (PDP) online training courses with the Spanish Patent and Trademark Office (OEPM) and the World Trade Organization (WTO) are currently accepting applications from qualified government officials until January 30, 2022.
The PDP course with the OEPM is scheduled to take place virtually from March 21 to April 1, 2022 in Spanish. The course is organized for the benefit of trademark examiners from government institutions in Latin American countries. Candidates must complete a distance learning (DL) phase consisting of the WIPO Advanced Course on Trademarks, Industrial Designs and Geographical Indications (DL-302) to qualify. The WIPO-OEPM Advanced Training Course on Trademarks for Latin American Countries will run under the new PDP format, whereby participants will conduct research with the guidance of a WIPO-selected advisor for the final assignment in order to receive a WIPO professional development certificate.

The annual WIPO-WTO Advanced Course on Topical Intellectual Property Policy Issues will be held online from March 21 to April 1, 2022 in English. The course is aimed at senior policymakers involved in multilateral intellectual property (IP) matters in ministerial departments and IP offices in developing countries, least-developed countries (LDCs) and countries in transition. Candidates must successfully complete the WIPO General Distance Learning Course on IP (DL-101) in order to participate in the course. At the end of the WIPO-WTO Advanced Course on IP Policy Issues, participants will receive a WIPO certificate of attendance.
