Coming soon: New Master’s Degree Program in IP Management and Innovation in the Philippines

WIPO, the Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines (IPOPHL) and De La Salle University (DLSU) in the Philippines have teamed up to offer a new Joint Master’s Degree Program in Intellectual Property (IP) and Innovation launching in September 2023.

WIPO Director General Daren Tang, Mr. Rowel S. Barba, Director General of IPOPHL, and Brother Bernard S. Oca, President of De La Salle University, signed an agreement on July 21, 2022 to offer a new Joint Master’s Degree Program in IP Management and Innovation. The program will be dedicated to enhancing the IP knowledge and skills of legal practitioners, entrepreneurs and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), IP managers and technology transfer professionals in the Asia and the Pacific region. An internship requirement has been added to the curriculum of the program to help build the practical IP experience of its participants.

The Joint Master’s Degree Program in IP and Innovation in the Philippines will be the WIPO Academy’s ninth joint higher education program on offer, and the second in the Asia and the Pacific Region. The program will be taught at the Department of Commercial Law, Ramon V. Del Rosario College of Business of DLSU, and will include a distance learning phase with DLSU, followed by a residential phase and another distance learning phase with the WIPO Academy.
