What will the course cover?

The in-person course is aimed at senior policy-makers involved in multilateral IP matters from relevant ministerial departments and IP offices, as it will cover main topical IP issues debated within WIPO, WTO, and in various international fora. The interactive lectures, which will be delivered in English, will illustrate the importance of IP to capacity building and national development. Participants will be required to complete a special session of the WIPO General Distance Learning Course on IP (DL-101) from February 13 to March 14, 2023 or the WTO Specialized Online Course on TRIPS, available on WTO E-Learning platform. Only participants who have completed either the DL-101 in the last two years, or the WTO Specialized Online Course on TRIPS will be exempted from this prerequisite.

As a professional development program (PDP) training course for government officials, WIPO and WTO will bear the cost of participation, including travel and accommodation for selected participants.
