What does the program include?

The training program, which will be held in English, is composed of the following three phases and a final evaluation:

  • Phase 1: Drafting Basics – tutor-led online modules on the fundamentals of drafting claims and the specification through expert-facilitated discussions and exercises.
  • Phase 2: Workshop – a workshop held at WIPO Headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland delivered by patent experts, with a focus on improving patent drafting skills and the practices of different jurisdictions.
  • Phase 3: Mentoring – online mentoring by high-level experts, including tailor-made advanced patent drafting exercises for each participant’s field of expertise. Participants will have a unique opportunity to directly interact and seek hands-on advice from instructors through mentoring.

Upon the successful completion of the program participants will receive a WIPO certificate.
