Join Our World IP Day Roundtable with Women Scientists

On the occasion of World IP Day, the WIPO Academy is teaming up with UNESCO and the Korean Intellectual Property Office (KIPO) to host a hybrid roundtable discussion on “Women in Science – Shaping the Future” on April 26, 2023. The roundtable will bring together leading scientists and science entrepreneurs for an engaging discussion on the vital role that women scientists play in driving innovation, solving complex problems and improving the lives of people around the world.

How to join?

The roundtable will start at 13.30 pm Geneva, Switzerland time and is open to anyone wishing to explore what it takes for women to create value from their research and innovation, and the challenges and opportunities of science-based entrepreneurship.

What will the roundtable cover?

The roundtable is organized in the context of the WIPO-UNESCO-KIPO Leadership Course on Intellectual Property, Science and Innovation for Women Scientists and Innovators, which is taking place from April 25 to 28, 2023.

This is a unique opportunity to hear from world-renowned scientists and entrepreneurs such as Tiffany Norwood, Helen Lee and laureates from the L’Oréal-UNESCO For Women in Science Programme, who managed to turn intellectual property (IP) into real world benefits.

The discussion will also explore strategies to create enabling environments for women and girls to enter STEM fields and the IP system, and the benefits of their inclusion.
