Register Now: Artificial Intelligence & IP Workshop

WIPO Academy, the International Intellectual Property Training Institute and the Korean Intellectual Property Office are teaming up to offer a five-day online workshop on artificial intelligence (AI) and intellectual property from December 4 to 8, 2023.

The workshop is open to students, professors, researchers, government officials, examiners in intellectual property (IP) offices, and anyone interested in AI and IP. Registration for the "AI and IP Workshop" is open until November 26, 2023 on the WIPO eLearning Center.

Applicants must have an advanced proficiency in written and spoken English to participate in the workshop, and priority will be given to those who have experience in and/or a background in AI and IP.

What will the AI and IP Workshop cover?

Throughout the workshop, experts from academia, the private sector and government will engage in interactive lectures and lead group discussions on IP issues arising from AI, especially generative AI such as ChatGPT, in the global context. The topics that will be addressed during the workshop include:

  • The concept of AI, especially generative AI and its societal issues;
  • Recent issues of AI and IP, including copyright issues of AI-generated products and AI training data, and various issues of patents, trademarks and design;
  • AI systems for IP business and administration; and
  • Diverse perspectives on issues such as AI and jobs, AI regulation, and AI use in developing countries.

Upon successfully completing the five-day workshop, participants will be awarded a WIPO certificate. Please contact the program administrator if you have any enquiries.
