The significant growth of the value of intangible assets which are protected by IP such as brands, software, databases, organizational assets and skills underscores the importance of being able to manage these assets effectively and efficiently.

The Academy’s goal with this Program in collaboration with IPOS was to ensure that IP practitioners from developing countries are equipped with the necessary tools, skills and techniques to develop and protect new ideas with confidence. It was also important that they learn from Singapore’s experience in using IP as a tool for business growth and development and share best practices that could propel them to the next level.

Mr. Sherif Saadallah, Executive Director of the WIPO Academy
