WIPO and IPOS Agree to Expand IP Training Opportunities in Singapore, ASEAN and Beyond

WIPO Director General Daren Tang signed an agreement with Ms. Rena Lee, Chief Executive of the Intellectual Property Office of Singapore (IPOS) and Chairperson of IPOS International on August 28, 2024, during IP Week 2024 in Singapore. The agreement establishes a framework to build intellectual property (IP) capacities among businesses and professionals through the WIPO Academy’s Executive Training Program.

The agreement reaffirms the commitment of both parties to deliver impactful IP training and skills-building tailored to the needs of innovation actors from across the public and private sectors in Singapore, ASEAN and beyond.

What is the Executive Training Program?

The WIPO Academy’s Executive Training Program was launched in 2024 to offer short and intensive practical skills-building opportunities for IP professionals interested in:

  • Leveraging IP as a tool for business growth;
  • Enhancing IP negotiation capabilities;
  • Building strong networks and partnerships across disciplines; and
  • Developing and protecting new ideas and technologies across multiple industries in various innovative and creative sectors.
