Mr. Pierre A. Karrer, a national of Switzerland, is a Partner at Pestalozzi Gmuer & Patry and specializes in International Arbitration. Mr. Karrer is President of the Swiss Arbitration Association. He is on the panel of Arbitrators for the Zurich Chamber of Commerce, where he is co-chairman, European International Contractors, Vienna Chamber, Hong Kong Center, American Arbitration Association, The Korean Arbitration Board, Singapore Center and other institutions. Mr. Karrer has served as Chairman, Sole Arbitrator, party-appointed Arbitrator and Counsel in well over 150 international commercial arbitrations in Switzerland, Paris, London, Brussels, Milan, Singapore and elsewhere. Mr. Karrer has an LLM from Yale University and has also studied Law in Zurich (Dr. iur.), Goettingen, Padova and The Hague.
His publications include Switzerlands Private International Law, 2ed., Kluwer 1994 (with Karl Arnold and Michele Patocchi); Commentary to Art. 187 PIL Statute, 2000, and numerous articles on international arbitration.
