Curriculum Vitae - Jean-Pierre Pacaud

Jean-Pierre Paccaud is a co-founder and C.E.O of Athelas SA, a startup company based in Geneva and active in the field of anti-bacterial drug discovery and development.

Dr. Paccaud has been trained as a molecular and cell biologist. He received his PhD in immunology, then studied insulin receptor functions at the University of Geneva. After the completion of a post-doctoral training at the University of California at Berkeley as a Swiss National Science Fund Fellow in the area of yeast genetics and biochemistry, he joined the Department of Morphology of the University of Geneva, where he was tenured, and conducted his own research in the field of intracellular trafficking. He is the author of more than 40 peer-reviewed publications and the recipient of several research grants. In parallel to his research and teaching activities at the Medical School, he received a training in entrepreneurship at the Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne, as well as at the Babson College in Boston. Since 2002, he is the CEO of Athelas SA.
